Jose Oliveira Borges, 88 of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 22nd at HopeHealth Hospice. He was devoted loving husband of Maria Liduina Borges for 60 years.

Jose Oliveira Borges was born on July 29, 1935, in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal. He was the son of Jose Maria Borges and Elisa Marta de Oliveira Borges. Jose worked for the Ministry of Finances in Terceira before moving to the United States. He worked at BA Ballou for many years and retired in 1995. Jose, who was a communicant of Holy Family Parish, enjoyed fishing, watching soccer, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children Joseph Borges and his wife Grace of Uxbridge, MA, Ana Paula Laginhas, and her husband Jose of Cumberland, RI. He is survived by his loving grandchildren Julian, Kayleigh, Jeannine, Brittany, Samuel, and Adrian. In addition, he is survived by his sister Edite Borges, along with many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. He is predeceased by his sister Natalia Freitas.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima, 7 Fatima Drive, Cumberland, RI 02864. Burial will follow at Rumford Cemetery on Wilson Avenue (off of Pawtucket Avenue) in East Providence, RI 02916. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday morning from 8:30 - 10:30 am at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Ave, Lincoln, RI.
